Dear Sponsors, Friends and Supporters of Kenya’s Kids In Need,
KKIN-US is sad to announce it is ending their partnerships with Fanuel at Galilee Primary School, Waddington High School and Holly House on June 1, 2011. This date was determined by Fanuel after some very hard discussions. KKIN-US and Fanuel have been unable to resolve issues on how the sponsorship programs are to be run and where they are heading. Both Fanuel and KKIN-US deeply appreciate all that each of you have done for the children at the schools and Holly House. Fanuel will be working with Plant-A-Book and Nairobi Kids (KKIN-UK) to assume the sponsorship program.
Please address all questions regarding discontinuation of the sponsorship programs to: info@kenyakidsinneed.org. It is too difficult for us make sure questions are answered if they are posted on the boards or sent to my or Holly’s personal email accounts.
Sponsorships: KKIN will continue to process sponsorship payments through May 25, 2011. We will cancel any subscription payments via paypal that have not been stopped on May 25th. .
If you have paid for the 3rd term it will be wired with the final wire.
If you are interested in continuing your sponsorship after June 1st email Brenda at info@plantabook.org Galilee Primary School, Waddington High School and Holly House sponsorships will be processed by Plant-a-Book International.
OLS: will close on May 26, 2011. This will give us time to work with Fanuel and Duncan to process any orders and to receive and send out the pictures. Unresolved OLS issues after July 1 will be given to children in need at Fanuel’s discretion.
Letters: Betsy will mail out first term letters after we receive them.
Exam Scores: First term exam scores will be sent out after we receive them.
Tax Receipts: We will send out tax receipts for 2011 after we have closed the books. We hope to have them out by Thanksgiving. KKIN-US has not yet decided if we will be dissolving the nonprofit or if we will be focusing our efforts elsewhere.
Thank you for making the last 3 years a great success! Without each of you our WHS students would not have made such high marks on the KCSE, the GPS kids would not have had opportunities to go to Music Fest and the HH kids would not have had special holiday dinners. You made all this and so much more possible!
Thank you again for being a part of our journey in making a difference in the lives of these very special children and for your part in helping a man with a very big mission fulfill a dream.
We hope everyone will continue to support Fanuel’s efforts to provide opportunities for children to breakout of the cycle of poverty they were born into.
