Five years ago attending high school was only a dream to the children in the Kayole-Soweto slums of Nairobi. Sponsors and supportors of the students attending Galilee Primary School knew the key to breaking the hold poverty had on them was through education. Banding together and pooling resources, we purchased a plot of land and built Waddington High School.
WHS follows a thorough curriculum including Math, English, Kiswahili, Geography, History, Civics, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics, Social Ethics and Christian Religious Education. Students may elect to participate in the school choir and sports.
In order to be accepted at Waddington High School, prospective students must receive a score of 250 or better on the KCPE (Kenya Certificate of Primary Education).
By paying just $20 a month, you can sponsor a child at Waddington High School, and help change the course of their future. The cost of sponsorship covers your child's school fees, lunch and basic school supplies. As a sponsor, you can write to your child and provide welcomed encouragement. The children write treasured letters to their sponsors approximately 2 -3 times per year.

John is 17 years old in Class 3 at WHS. He loves playing Football and biology class. His dream is to go into mechanics after school. For less than .67 cents per day, you can help John achieve his dreams and hopefully leave the slums and have a brighter future.
Mary
Mary is 15 years old in class 2 at WHS. She lives with her widowed mother who struggles to pay for her school fees. She is a good student who likes to ask questions and read books. She needs a caring sponsor to see her through school and help her achieve her dreams.

Felix is 14 years old anda in Class 1 at WHS. Felix has had a lot of tragedy in his life. Both of his parents have died and he was separated from his brothers and sisters afterward. He now lives with his grandmother, and likes to work in the garden. He dreams of finishing school and going into journalism.
